Yesterday our class, Te Kinga went on a big day out. Nic put us into five groups I was with Blake and Kaelyn, after that we started walking to the Velinski track with Blake and Solomon dong the traps. there were nothig in the traps sadly, but we did do some first aid training. After that walk we started to walk to the swing bridge track. On the track we came across a fairy garden, which was pretty creative. After that we went to the lake side and we split into to groups and made a hut with a tarp as a roof. We all had to fit in the hut. Alice filled up a bucket and threw it on both huts, ours got destroyed. Next we lit some fires and ate some s'mores. Finaly we than had about a thirty minute play, then it was time to go. We then packed up all our stuff and started to walk back to school.

People Smart.
For topic last week my group and I did people smart. We had to do two activities. The first activity was we had to take some cups filled with water on one foot and with one hand to the tray. We lined up then we passed it to each other until they all got to the tray. When we finished that, the next activity was to find water from around the school but it couldn't be from any taps. We found a big puddle even though it was a sunny day. We had to fill a little yellow bucket and a big red bucket with water, we filled the big red bucket up to the top. Then we used a measuring cup to see how much water we had collected. That's what my group and I did for people smart.
Do you think that you could do any of these activities?

Topic
Today when we were doing topic my group had to take a photo of water or something to do with water on the Ipads. It took us around about 10 minutes to find a picture about water. When we got a photo we edited it and then we sent it to our own chrome books so we could have it on our chrome books. When we all did that Nic sent us a doc. When we received it we put the best photo we had onto the doc and write our name under our own photo.
That is what we did for topic.
Have you taken a photo of water before?

Mount Te Kinga climb
Last week on Thursday we climbed mount Te Kinga. When we all got to school our teacher told us all about the mountain and the safety rules as well as what were going to do there. She told us which car we were going in to get there. After a while Zaine and me got in grandmothers car. when we got there we started to climb up the mountain. It was really muddy. It took us about fifty minutes to get to the second look out. When we got to the second look out we had a little snack. Then we headed back down. When we finally got down the mountain, we got into our togs and went into the lake and had a swim. After that Blake and I made a fire and so did other people. Then we got four marshmallows each and cooked them on the fire. Then we went back to the cars got changed and went back home.

natural disaster
We did a narrative writing last week about a natural disaster story. It took a really long time for all of us to write and finish it. When we all finished our stories we acted them out. We acted them to see if there were mistakes to be fixed or to if they could be acted out by us. After we finished that we are going to publish them on our computer. It took most of us three days to finish it. Mine is about a Tsunami, here is a picture of a Tsunami:

We've been learning about rocks and how they're made. We looked at the three main types of rocks which are Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic. Igneous rocks are formed in volcanoes like Tuff, Obsidian and Pumice. Sedimentary rocks are formed in lakes rivers and the ocean. Metamorphic rocks are formed when great pressure and heat deep inside the earth mix the different types of rocks together, or change rocks forms.
